# Connect Immersive Translate

> Bilingual browser translation extension that can call a language model instead.

## Use cases

Good for bilingual side-by-side translation of foreign web pages and documents, using this platform's language models for more context-aware translations.

## Tips

Translation extensions call often with short texts, so prefer a cheaper text model and set a daily spend limit.

## If it cannot connect

1. Use `https://omnimodel.me/v1` as the API host, without `/chat/completions`.
2. The key starts with `key_` and is not paused or revoked; `auth.invalid_key` means the key cannot be used.
3. The model ID matches the [catalog](/catalog) and is in the key's allowed models.
4. `billing.insufficient_credit` means the balance is too low; see [common errors](/docs/errors?lang=en) for more.

## Setup

1. Open the extension settings, go to Translation Services, and pick OpenAI.
2. Expand the custom settings and fill in the API host and key below.
3. Set the model ID and run the test.

## Settings

- API host：`https://omnimodel.me/v1`
- API key：`YOUR_API_KEY`
- Model：`MODEL_ID`

## FAQ

### Does translating a whole page make many calls?

Yes. Pages are sent in segments, so long pages can make many calls; prefer a cheaper model.

### What if the translation quality is poor?

Switch to a stronger text model, or adjust the prompt in the extension.
