Connect Cline
VS Code extension that reads, edits, and runs code across a whole task.
Use cases
Good for letting an assistant work through a whole task in VS Code, reading and editing files and running commands. One task makes many calls, so cost grows with task length.
Tips
Coding prompts tend to be long, so pick a long-context model and set a daily spend limit on the key to keep long tasks in check.

FAQ
- How many calls does a task make?
- It depends on the task. Cline sends context to the model at every step, so one task can make dozens of calls. Try a small task first and check usage.
- How do I keep long tasks from overspending?
- Set a daily spend limit on the key Cline uses; calls are refused once it is reached.
